About Us
Who We Are
Trinity exists to embody and proclaim a hope-filled, Jesus-centered faith. Simply put, we are seeking to think, act, and love…with Jesus.
We believe that God looks like Jesus, and we are seeking to look like him too. We celebrate community as the place that faith and life grow. And we embrace our role in participating in God’s reconciling, peace-building work in the world.
We are an intergenerational church that loves friendship, laughs easily, and shares generously. We have a passion for serving each other and our neighbors. We ask big questions and are comfortable with wrestling together and even disagreeing. But we also have a big conviction that God is alive and available to be encountered. We’re not very formal around here. But we do seek to be responsive to whatever God’s Spirit is doing!

What is a Mennonite?
Trinity belongs to a global stream of the Christian tradition known as Anabaptists (“re-baptizers”), which emerged 500 years ago during the Protestant Reformation. Today we affiliate with a larger community of Christians across the United States who call themselves Mennonite Church USA. For a brief introduction to this stream, you can watch the video here.
But we’re really not hung up on the labels. For us, the most important thing is our commitment to centering all of our faith and life on Jesus. We desire to partner with others who are seeking the same, no matter what tradition or background they come from, and we celebrate those who are at all the stages of exploring what Jesus might mean for them.

What We Believe
Here are a few of the core convictions that get our community up in the morning:
We believe that God desires to be known by all people and can be experienced in genuine personal relationship.
We believe that Jesus Christ has showed us what God is really like and that he alone is our authoritative model for the truly human life.
We believe that God is gathering a people to live together “beautifully strange,” in holy rebellion against the deathly status quo.
We believe that as a resurrection people empowered by God’s Spirit, we can afford to take substantial risks to live out God’s radically alternative vision for the world.
We believe that God is constantly in the process of making things new and invites each generation into creative participation in the emergence of what will be.
We believe in the faithful witness to God of Scripture and in the present witness of the Spirit in the living community, continuing to guide us into God’s dreams.
Our community is committed to practicing together a “centered-set” model of church. Basically that means we’re less concerned with policing boundaries and more concerned with making Jesus as big as possible at the center of our faith. We seek to make generous space for each other in our disagreements and to celebrate any step a person makes toward Jesus. (Learn more about centered-set church HERE.)
