Adult Spiritual Formation
The main venues for adult spiritual formation are our worship service, Sunday School hour on Sunday mornings and group life. Several small groups meet during the week. There are a variety of classes and groups offered for conversation, community and learning.
A Year of Biblical Womanhood: How a Liberated Woman Found Herself Sitting on Her Roof, Covering Her Head, and Calling Her Husband "Master" by Rachel Held Evans meets in the fellowship hall from 9 - 10:05 a.m. Taught by Christine Schweitzer and Ron Faus. This is a book for women and men, focusing on Biblical interpretationand the lenses we bring. This class meets in the sanctuary.
Through May 19th.
Beginning Sunday, May 26th, this class will study Mere Discipleship: Radical Discipleship in a Rebellious World, by Lee C. Camp. Copies of the book can be ordered through Ron Faus before May 13th.
The Family Life Class(Formerly the Moms' class)Taught by Rebecca Bailey, will meet in the library and study:
Hospitality. Expecting Surprises by Michele Hershberger.
"Hospitality is much more than inviting visitors for a meal after church. It is breaking down walls that divide. In this book Hershberger demonstrates that Christian living is full of calls and opportunities to meet the stranger in need and to extend the gospel through a ministry of hospitality."
Ambassador Class - This senior adult class meets in the fellowship hall and is currently studying Beyond the Present Time, apocalyptic texts in Daniel, Luke, Acts, 1 & 2 Thessalonians and 1 & 2 Peter. This class is taught by Sam Snyder.
Builders Class - This active retired class meets in the conference room to study Beyond the Present Time. (see description above). Taught by Roy Teramoto.
